Little Hearts

Whisper of Being

When it started, the sangha used the newsletters only to send details about the satsangs. Then, an inspiration arrived: to share the many ways in which Presence calls out to one’s heart and how this call could awaken one’s longing for liberation when one comes to the satsangs with an open heart. Several of the first newsletters in the archive here speak of this.

Meanwhile, life’s alchemy has worked on the sangha, and all of us here have now arrived at the bridge that leads one from merely seeking and wondering about life’s ways, lulled by one’s patterns and attachments, to the boundless land of eternally changing life; here, living is possible only when lived as part of life itself, like a butterfly or a bird, without any security or certainty, rooted in what life offers at the moment, and without a care about what comes later. The New World the Heart is Home Movement is set out to create is this boundless land, and one cannot serve its emergence while remaining on the other side of the bridge. Each being of the sangha has arrived at the door of Presence because somewhere deep within, there is a knowing that everything other than God is impermanent. Despite recognising this – for it is impossible to miss this when one is shepherded by a living Presence – it takes immense courage, utter devotion, and complete trust in life to walk this bridge to the New World, leaving behind all of one’s psychological attachments, humanly desires, and comforts.

Standing at the cusp of this bridge and preparing to embark on a journey into the depths of our own hearts, through the upcoming newsletters, we would like to gather our courage and share openly and vulnerably our fears of leaving behind what we are clinging to, our insecurities about placing complete trust in life, our defensiveness when our unconsciousness is pointed out and corrected by the wisdom of Presence, the resentments that arise when the heart is closed and unwilling to see the patterns that keep it in the clutches of the mind, the profuse tears that drench our heart when during moments of openness and grace, the longing of the heart to have the courage to run across the bridge to the bliss that is ever beaconing, and above all, the joy of being that sometimes emerges when our heart is soft and soaking in the grace of God. And through this sharing, we humbly invite your heart to look at its own fears, resistance, and all the illusions that keep it away and apart from joy, peace, and love.

Because it also takes some tenderness to stand in that vulnerability and write about it, we send out the newsletter when such open seeing is possible for a being of the sangha and not at regular intervals.
